Meet Jen and Ken

​Jen Gamble, Owner and Business Manager
​Jen has loved boats and water since she was very young. Always a nature-enthusiast she spent countless happy days exploring the woods and marshes near her home. She also spent a lot of time exploring the East Branch of the Saco, swimming, rock-hopping and appreciating the wildlife found there. She has years of experience with power boats on salt water and has worked on a research vessel hauling in fishing nets in order to identify and classify the catch. Jen earned her degree in Marine Biology from the University of New England, and has been living and working in the Mt. Washington Valley since that time. She will run the business side of things using her experience in ski-rentals as well as in handling leadership and customer service roles in several establishments. Jen is looking forward to carrying on the fine tradition of North Woods Rafting, while adding her own touches to guide the business into the future.

Ken Dyer, Guide and Operations/Logistics Manager
Ken’s relationship with North Woods Rafting began when Mark Peabody and Kim Hockmeyer took ownership of the company from its original owners about seven years ago.  From that point on he has been a constant presence at North Woods Rafting from helping them get the company started to guiding trips and maintaining equipment.  He is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2021 season and looks forward to continuing the North Woods Rafting legacy. Ken is and has been a lifelong water enthusiast.  Starting off going fishing with his grandfather as a child, moving up to being a sea-kayak guide on Martha’s Vineyard to a whitewater kayaker and whitewater guide here in New Hampshire and a registered Maine Guide.  Ken loves everything to do with having a great experience in nature whether it is on or off the water.  His passion for the outdoors is ever-present and he loves to share his experiences and knowledge with anyone who asks. He is so excited to be in charge of operations and logistics for North Woods Rafting going forward. He can’t wait to get back on the water.
